University of Salford announced as host of the RCN Foundation Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing
Our Annual Lecture on 15 Nov, announced the host of the CASCN alongside the panel discussion on critical aspects of adult social care.
Since 2010, we have been committed to supporting and strengthening nursing and midwifery across the UK and in turn, improving the health and wellbeing of the public.
Our support is available to every current and former nurse, midwife, and healthcare support worker, as well as students and nursing associates. Through our campaigns and investment in nursing-led research projects across the UK, we champion nursing and midwifery and have supported countless members of both professions.

2023
A first of its kind: We committed to invest over £700,000 over a five-year period to support and improve adult social care in the UK. The creation of the RCN Foundation Chair in Adult Social Care Nursing hosted by the University of Salford, is a role that will take a strategic lead in shaping research and education in adult social care at a local, national, and international level and will provide the building blocks for the next generation of adult social care nurses.
Award winning campaign: Here for Life is a social movement for nurses and midwives to show what they do and raise the awareness of the professions and the impact that they have on individual patients and clients and on wider society.
The campaign won ‘Healthcare Charities, Patient Associations & The NHS’ category at the PM Society Digital Awards as well as ‘Highly Commended’ in the Charitable Campaign of the Year category at the Communique Awards.
2020
Investing in Neuro Rehabilitation: The development, funding, and delivery of the UK’s first-ever Postgraduate Certificate in Neurological Rehabilitation and Care, at the University of Edinburgh. For nurses to develop as advanced practitioners in the area of neurological rehabilitation for the of support young adults who have experienced an acquired brain injury (ABI) or stroke.
