RCN Foundation Leathersellers' Grant – A dedicated fund for non-specialist nurses who work with children and young people struggling with their mental health.
The RCN Foundation has partnered with the Leathersellers’ Company to offer education grants to nurses who support children and young people mental wellbeing.
The £1,600 grant enables you to undertake a postgraduate module in child and adolescent mental health, learning skills that can then be applied to patient care within your own clinical setting with the aim to develop your confidence, skills, and understanding in this area of nursing.
- A UK non-mental health registered nurse or midwife working with children and young people who are experiencing challenges with their mental health and emotional wellbeing; and
- Able to start a UK-accredited postgraduate child and adolescent mental health module between 1 September 2024 and 1 September 2025
- You do not need to be a member of the RCN in order to apply for an RCN Foundation grant.

Meet Crystal
Crystal is an ICU Nurse working at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. She was a nursing associate when she applied for funding and was awarded an RCN Foundation Leathersellers Education Grant. She used this towards a degree in Adult Nursing at Manchester Metropolitan University. As a nursing associate, the degree course was exactly what Crystal needed to challenge herself professionally and to progress onto becoming a band 5 nurse.
