Feasibility study to be undertaken on young adults following a brain injury.
A new feasibility research study funded by the RCN Foundation, in partnership with SameYou, is to be undertaken at the University of Edinburgh and now open for UK applicants.
The purpose of the study is to co-design and preliminarily test a nurse-led, holistic, neurological rehabilitation intervention, supporting the psychosocial rehabilitation and survivorship of young adults following an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
The Fellowship is for 1-year full time or 2 years part-time and will commence in September 2023 (part-time) or January 2024 (full-time). The Fellow will join the research team based at the University of Edinburgh, led by Professor Aisha Holloway, Chair in Nursing Studies, and Professor Daniel Kelly, RCN Chair, The University of Cardiff.
The MSc by Research (Nursing) programme offers the highest quality of education and development for those nurses interested in developing world class research skills that would ideally position them to progress to PhD study. It aims to provide students with an advanced understanding of research design, data collection and data analysis issues in nursing and the wider health and social care context.
The MSc by Research (Nursing’s) contribution is essential to explain how a psychosocial intervention for young adults after an ABI works in various contexts and produces desired outcomes. The programme is designed for qualified nurse practitioners and for graduates (or equivalent) interested in pursuing a future career as a research leader in the field to drive real-world positive change for those who have survived an Acquired Brain Injury.
