Reshaping Care Home Care: Listening & Learning with Older Persons
The RCN Foundation provided a grant of £25,878 to Queen Margaret University (QMU) for a Listening & Learning with Older Persons project.
Based in two care homes within the Randolph Hill Nursing Homes Group in Scotland during 2017, the project supported the two respective nursing teams to spend more time seeking out and listening to feedback from care home residents.
By addressing this feedback, the teams were able to improve patient care and prevent emerging issues from becoming formal complaints.
By developing and applying this Listening & Learning model, nurses were able to improve the experience of care for older persons on a day-to-day basis.
